Rubrica is an address book for Gnome environment. It was born as
programming exercies during my gtk+/gnome library studies.

Rubrica is Free Software (Open Source) it is released under the terms of GPL
(see COPYING file for more details).

It is copyright 2000-2004 by Nicola Fragale <nicolafragale@libero.it>
You can find last release at: http://digilander.libero.it/nfragale

Rubrica is hosted on Freshmeat, where you can subscrive to update notification.

Features:
	- more addressbooks can be opened at the same time
User can Cut, copy and paste addresses from
		an addressbook to another

	- file format, import/export
		Rubrica's file format is xml.

		* Import
		Rubrica can import addresses from:
		GnomeCard
		Kde addressbook
		VCard
		Netscape csv
		Mozilla csv

		* Export
		Rubrica can export addresses to
		HTML
		text
		VCard

	- Balsa and KMail successfully opened the addressbooks exported to VCard

first name, middle name, last name
		name prefix, title, profession, birthday

	- preview
user can have a preview of addressbook before open it

	- dictionary
User can customize a dictionary. By default user can choose an
Italian or English dictionary. Dictionary is related to
managed data field. For examples: you can translate "first
name" in your language. Now the translation is used only in
preview, where user can see: "first name translation"
the_first_name, etc. It is planned to use this feature into
the html export, so user can have an addressbook html list in
his native (or preferred) language. Look at example under doc
                directory.

	- GUI, navigation tools
Rubrica GUI has two main window, in the left one rubrica
shows all addresses contained in addressbook, while in the
rigth one shows data contained in the selected address.

four buttons are available for navigation. first (show the
first card in addressbook), last (show the last card in
addressbook), next (show the next card) and prev (show the
                previous)

It is available a search tool. You can search a card by first
name, last name, country, city, email, web urls, and more
